Re: Wow...just WOW!
Dear Bro. Richardson,
Not only do I see nothing wrong with this illustration nor its implied methodology, I am convinced that ministers (and I use the term very loosely) like Mark Driscoll and Rick Warren and the salmon they have spawned who naively and instinctually swim upstream against the reasonable current of Baptistic tradition in their blind loyalty of them could learn a great deal about the proper dress and hairstyle that is most decent for those who preach the true gospel and lead men to a decision.
Now excuse me as I must replenish my office supply of Pomade. And hairnets.
Hirsutely yours, Bro. Herring

Bro. Richardson,
PS: 'Ordinarily a man should never touch a woman, but in this case the Holy Spirit will bless it.'
O rapture! O wondrous joy!
Yours in anticipation of taking this quote completely out of context, Bro. Herring

Re: Wow...just WOW!
Lee,
I know man, I know! The problem with all of this is that there is simply TOO MUCH comedic material here. I was in stitches when I first read this thing and looked at the pictures. Oh man...

Re: Wow...just WOW!
Wyme,
Sadly laughable, if possible-
I need to give you a book that was given to me by Kim's grandfather: *How to Give a Good Invitation,* which was published in that same era. That could serve as a sequal to the other. The writer (Roy Fish I believe) provides the words to say etc, utterly rediculous.

Re: Wow...just WOW!
Kevin,
Hey man. Well, let me preface this with this comment: I actually have a great respect for Dr. Fish and his life and ministry. I remember some of his sermons from seminary even today. He really does have a great passion for seeing the lost come to know the Lord.
But that being said, I concur 100% on that book (I've read it): it is, in my opinion, a very unfortunate piece of writing!
Hope you're doing well man!

Re: Wow...just WOW!
Pastor Wyman,
Nothing like a little pressure to get people to make the all-important "decision." Why don't you get your hair done like that and get a tie like that? :)
I suppose if Bunyan's and Edwards' theologies of conversion were on one extreme (i.e., salvation as difficult to attain as possible--though I do greatly respect both men), this is on the other.
