Few doctrines are more maligned, debated, and/or discussed than the doctrine of hell. I was interested to see, then, that the new IX Marks eJournal is entitled, "Hell: Remembering the Awful Reality."
Even the title of this issue reveals the current dilemma: many are in danger of forgetting that (a) Jesus spoke more than a few times on Hell and (b) Hell is a reality that simply must be reckoned with.
I'll be reading through these articles over the days to come, but I think I can safely say, knowing IX Marks, that they're bound to be insightful, careful, and thought-provoking.
Immediately I am struck by the title of Greg Gilbert's article, "Why Hell is Integral to the Gospel." I daresay I agree and that the cross cannot be understood outside of a biblical doctrine of Hell.
