Wade Burleson agrees that the church in Florida, or whomever, should not burn copies of the Koran. (It sounds a bit iffy now concerning who is or isn't going to burn what tomorrow.) And yet, Burleson raises an interesting question here.
I haven't wavered one iota that this is a terrible idea. Neither has anybody that I know. But in terms of raising a thought-provoking question, Burleson's point is worthy of note.
I'm inclined to agree with the first comment in Burleson's comments section: it's because Christians don't go killing those with whom we disagree.
It is a double standard, to be sure. But is it not a double standard that reveals a qualitative distinction between Islam and Christianity? I think so.
