Here are the basic highlights from the game:

Sometimes these games get heated:

Sometimes they get downright mean (watch about 43 seconds in where the child in the Clemson shirt approaches Cocky, the S.C. mascot).  Don't get me wrong, this is funny, and the little kid came up to show Cocky his Clemson shirt (undoubtedly prompted by his parents to do so), but kids, as a rule, should be left out of these things:

Sometimes sportmanship shows through (Clemson's best play, C.J. Spiller, and our best play, Eric Norwood):

In the end, though, they're a lot more fun when you win!

Re: South Carolina vs. Clemson Rivalry Thoughts

Good post. I was glad to see the Gamecocks take down Clemson.

I must admit, over the past few years, I've followed Gamecock football less and less. Maybe it's years of frustration with a program that is destined to mediocrity. Maybe it's changing priorities. Maybe it's some of both.

Now that I live in Florida, I'm enjoying the whole Gator experience. A couple weeks ago, I went to my first Gators game and had a blast. They have a top-notch gameday experience in Gainsville.

I'm sure I'll go to more Gators games and lend my support to the local SEC team...but I'll still smile any time Carolina beats Clemson!!

Best wishes to the Gamecocks in post-season play...and good luck to the Gators in the quest for the national title!

Dave,

Have fun with the Gators. Being a Gamecock is painful business, but I shall persevere.
