Re: My Great Grandaddy, Hamp Richardson

That is really special. What would you give to have his jersey or hat or glove or even an old dirty sock of his?

I concur, baseball must have stopped with Bobby; I've seen you play wiffle ball, and it's not pretty. :-)

Re: My Great Grandaddy, Hamp Richardson

Ha! You're right Kevin. But there was a time in high school when I could hit a duct-taped wiffle ball onto the 2nd floor balcony of the apartments across the street from my house. We played every Sunday afternoon, all afternoon. We'd line the 3rd base line with flour. Some of my greatest memories!

Oh, man, I'd give just about anything for that jersey. I'm sure you have the same experience with your ancestry. I find more and more that these kinds of things are meaningful to me.

I like that expression on his face. I keep wondering what he was thinking. :-)

Re: My Great Grandaddy, Hamp Richardson

. . . actually I don't have the same experience with my ancestry. My father began doing research several years back and discovered we had a great uncle somewhere down the line in the 1800's that found the noose due to him being a horse thief, seriously. :-)
